Praised be Jesus Christ…Now and forever!
It is hard to believe that July 1st will mark my first complete year as pastor of the Transfiguration. It has been simply amazing. I remarked to Bishop Binzer recently, that I have never been happier in my life. I do not mean to belittle my previous assignments. I have absolutely loved all my assignments as a priest, but there is something special about being pastor of Transfiguration. Thank you for all your love and support, and I would like to request that you continue to pray for me and the staff.
There are few items that I would like to bring to your attention as we begin summer.
The first is that our parish office will be closed on Friday. If there is an emergency we ask that you call the office, and follow the voice prompts to our emergency number. The parish staff would like to apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
Secondly, Fr. Kevin McCabe will be home for part of the summer. I have asked Fr. McCabe to celebrate a few Masses, both Sunday and weekdays. Please make him fell part of the family. For those who don’t know Fr. McCabe is a son of the parish. He is a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
And finally, the week of August 10-13th will be our parish Marian ‘novena’ as mentioned this past week at the end of the Mass. This week long event will consist of Mass each night beginning at 7pm, with an extended ‘teaching’ homily. The Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and procession to the outdoor altar located behind the church building. At the altar we will pray the rosary and consecrate ourselves to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The evening will conclude with Benediction and a social. Please mark your calendar and plan on attending. Invite you family and friends.
God is good…..all the time!
